Sansiri Capital acquires The Lake Como Edition luxury resort

The Lake Como Edition, a luxury resort located in Cadenabbia on the western shore of Lake Como, has changed ownership. The property was sold by Bain Capital and Omnam Group to Sansiri Capital, a fund from the Thai real estate group Sansiri.

The acquisition marks a significant move for Sansiri into the European luxury hospitality market. The hotel, housed in the former Britannia Excelsior 19th-century building, underwent a complete redevelopment starting in 2022. It was transformed from a nearly 300-room hotel into a high-end resort featuring 148 accommodations, including 24 suites and two penthouses.

Despite the change in ownership, the hotel will remain part of the Marriott International Edition collection. The property features extensive wellness facilities, including a longevity spa designed by Neri&Hu and a vitality pool by Myrtha Pools. While the official sale price has not been confirmed, reports suggest the deal is valued at approximately 230 million euros.
