Sant Cugat begins construction on La Floresta school path

Construction is beginning on a new school path in Sant Cugat, connecting the Diari bridge to La Floresta School. The project, which aims to improve safety and accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists, covers approximately 950 meters. The works involve building a continuous three-meter-wide sidewalk, installing new lighting, benches, and trees, and reorganizing vehicle and bicycle traffic.

The project has faced significant delays, with construction now scheduled to start in October 2026—more than three years after the initial timeline proposed in 2022. The budget for the project is approximately 1.29 million euros, with an estimated execution period of eight months.

To minimize local disruption, the initial phase involves constructing a new sewage network and will be carried out in three distinct stages. While pedestrian access will remain guaranteed during the works, vehicle circulation will be restricted to residents only.
