Sant Cugat councillor Jordi Guirado assaulted at information tent

Jordi Guirado, a municipal councillor for Vox in Sant Cugat del Vallès, was assaulted on Wednesday, September 10, while staffing an information tent on Passeig Francesc Macià. The attack was described as intense, resulting in Guirado being evacuated by ambulance to a hospital for medical attention.

Local police (Policia Local) intervened during the incident, and the Mossos d'Esquadra subsequently arrested the assailant at the scene. The perpetrator has been taken into police custody.

Vox spokesperson Marcos Rodríguez condemned the attack, stating that the party would not be intimidated. The Partit Popular (PP) also issued a statement condemning the violence and emphasizing that political disagreements must be expressed within the law and with respect.
