Sant Ermengol College celebrates 60 years in Andorra

Sant Ermengol College in Andorra has celebrated its 60th anniversary, marking six decades of educational service since its inauguration on October 3, 1966. The milestone was commemorated with a thanksgiving Mass at the Church of Sant Esteve in Andorra la Vella, presided over by Bishop Josep-Lluís Serrano.

The ceremony was attended by various high-ranking officials, including the General Syndic Carles Ensenyat, Minister of Education Ladislau Baró, and the Spanish Ambassador to Andorra, Carles Pérez-Desoy. During his homily, the Bishop highlighted the school's origins and its educational inspirations, Saint John Bosco and Blessed Anna Maria Janer.

Reflecting on the institution's history, early students recalled the school's humble beginnings when it operated with only 70 students in a building that was still under construction. Originally managed by the Salesians and serving only boys, the college has grown alongside the development of Andorra, evolving from a small local initiative into a significant educational landmark.
