Sant Joan d'Alacant begins Festes del Crist 2026 celebrations

Sant Joan d'Alacant has launched the 2026 Festes del Crist, a series of celebrations held in honor of the Santíssim Crist de la Pau. The festivities are scheduled to run from Saturday, September 12, to Wednesday, September 16.

The event, which has been declared of Provincial Tourist Interest, expects a record participation of over 2,300 people. The agenda includes a proclamation by the group Los Sanguangos, musical performances, parades, and traditional activities such as chocolate tastings and costume contests.

Pyrotechnics will play a major role, with daily 'mascletà' displays at Plaza Josep Carreras organized by Hermanos Caballer from Sunday to Wednesday, alongside nightly firework displays. The program also features religious elements, including an offering and procession in honor of the Christ.
