Residents and local authorities in Sant Miquel de Campmajor and Mieres are reporting significant difficulties due to a lack of mobile network coverage. The deficiency is impacting daily life for citizens and local businesses, specifically hindering the ability to process card payments.

Oriol Serrà, the mayor of Sant Miquel de Campmajor, noted that the lack of connectivity makes it difficult for the town hall to attend to citizens calling for information. He highlighted a particular frustration: while a fiber optic line running from Olot to Banyoles passes through the area, the connection remains inactive just 50 meters from the town hall.

In Mieres, Mayor Núria Martínez expressed that communication has worsened compared to the previous era of obsolete cable lines. Local municipal workers have also reported delays in receiving urgent messages, complicating their ability to respond to community needs.
