Ernesto Orozco Villa arrested in California police sting operation

Ernesto Orozco Villa, a 45-year-old resident of Westminster, was arrested in Orange County following a sting operation conducted by the Santa Ana Police Department. The investigation began after the mother of a 16-year-old boy discovered disturbing messages on her son’s phone.

Authorities allege that Villa sent inappropriate messages to the teenager, requested explicit photos, and attempted to arrange a sexual encounter. To apprehend the suspect, police used patrol officers and a drone unit to coordinate a trap, convincing Villa to meet the minor at a specific location.

Villa was taken into custody near the intersection of Bristol Street and McFadden Avenue while waiting in his vehicle. He has been booked into the Santa Ana Jail. Following the arrest, the Santa Ana Police Department issued a warning to parents regarding the dangers of online communication with strangers and the importance of monitoring children's devices.
