Santa Anita Park hosts wins for Little Opal and Forged Steel

Several notable horse racing results occurred at Santa Anita Park. In the Grade 3, $100,000 John C. Harris Stakes for 3-year-old fillies, Little Opal maintained an unbeaten record. Ridden by Emisael Jaramillo and trained by Doug O'Neill, the filly led the field from the start to win her first race beyond five furlongs.

In the Grade 1 Goodwood Stakes, a Breeders' Cup 'Win and You're In' race, Forged Steel secured a victory at 12-1 odds. Trained by Saffie Joseph Jr., the horse took command midway on the turn to earn his first Grade 1 win and a spot in the Breeders' Cup Classic at Keeneland. His stablemate, Caldera, finished second to complete a 1-2 finish for the Joseph barn. Nevada Beach finished third.
