Santa Barbara County power shutoff affects over 2,000 customers
Southern California Edison has implemented a public safety power shutoff in Santa Barbara County, affecting more than 2,000 customers. The measure was taken due to heightened wildfire risks driven by high winds, low humidity, and dry vegetation.
The outages extend from Carpinteria through Gaviota. The utility company indicated that an additional 1,000 customers may face shutoffs. Affected residents can access resources and meet company representatives at the Residence Inn in Goleta or the Veteran Memorial Building in Carpinteria. Maintenance is expected to take approximately eight hours once fire dangers subside.
