Santa Barbara Games announces Voidwood survival horror title

Santa Barbara Games, a new development studio featuring former talent from Bethesda, Riot, and EA, has announced its debut title, Voidwood. The game is a fantasy co-op survival horror experience designed for 1-4 players.

Set in a cursed forest, players take on the roles of children who must scavenge for supplies and craft tools during the day to prepare for the night. During nighttime, players must avoid ‘The Beast’, an unkillable force. The game utilizes proximity chat, where player noise levels can influence the game's difficulty by attracting monsters.

Voidwood features a Studio Ghibli-inspired art style and includes meta-progression systems. The game is currently in development for PC and is scheduled for release in 2027.
