Santa Barbara police search for bank robbery suspect

The suspect responsible for a robbery at a Bank of America on Coast Village Road in Santa Barbara remains at large. The incident occurred shortly before 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to Santa Barbara Police Department Commander Nathan Beltran, a middle-aged white male wearing a dark baseball hat, a black medical-style face mask, and a dark jacket entered the bank and demanded an undisclosed amount of cash. While bank employees initially believed the suspect possessed a firearm, detectives later determined the object was a piece of metal configured to resemble a handgun.

The suspect was last seen fleeing westbound on Coast Village Road while riding a dark-colored bicycle. Authorities stated there is currently no indication that this robbery is connected to other recent incidents.
