The municipality of Santa Bárbara inaugurated the new Dr. Domingos Sávio Queiroz Polyclinic on 6 July 2026. Located on Rua Francisco Teixeira da Fonseca in the Santa Mônica neighbourhood, the facility replaces the former Centre of Medical Specialties and expands local health services.

Named after the long‑serving physician Dr. Domingos Sávio Queiroz, the polyclinic will offer more than twelve specialties, including cardiology, paediatrics, gynaecology, urology, psychology and dermatology. Municipal officials said the new centre will improve access, quality and speed of specialised care for residents, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The opening ceremony brought together the municipal executive and legislative branches, health professionals and community members, highlighting the administration’s commitment to expanding public health infrastructure in Santa Bárbara.
