Santa Casa de Araraquara receives R$10 million from Brazil's federal health ministry

The Brazilian Ministry of Health, through the efforts of former Araraquara mayor and PT national president Edinho Silva and state deputy Thainara Faria, approved a direct transfer of R$10 million to the Santa Casa de Araraquara. The funding will support the hospital’s operating costs and strengthen its high‑complexity services. Santa Casa serves as the main SUS hospital for 24 municipalities, covering more than one million residents with urgent, emergency and specialized care.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health announced the closing deadline of 23:59 on Monday for municipalities to submit proposals under the FIIS Saúde call‑for‑projects. The editals (numbers 2 and 3) aim to finance the modernization of primary‑care units and the expansion of medium‑ to high‑complexity facilities, including equipment purchases and infrastructure upgrades across Brazil’s public health system.
