Santa Casa de Vale de Cambra to expand elderly care capacity
The Santa Casa de Vale de Cambra intends to expand its support services for the elderly by the end of this year. The institution aims to increase its capacity to serve an additional 55 people through both residential care and home support services.
Currently, the facility accommodates 100 residents and provides home visits to 65 seniors. The expansion plan seeks to increase residential beds to 120 and expand home visits to 100 individuals. This specific increase in home support has already received approval from Social Security.
Provident António Pina Marques noted a high demand for services, stating that there is a waiting list of 217 people. To facilitate the residential expansion, the institution plans to perform minor interior renovations to the existing building. The final investment cost remains undetermined due to fluctuating costs for materials, personnel, and utilities.
