Santa Catarina athletes compete in Youth Games and Olesc

The state of Santa Catarina is actively participating in major sporting events. A delegation from the state is set to compete in the Youth Games in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná, held from October 19 to November 3. This edition is expected to be the largest in history, gathering over 5,000 athletes aged 13 to 17 from across Brazil. The competition features 20 sports modalities, with Santa Catarina participating in 19 of them, including athletics, judo, swimming, and volleyball.

Additionally, the municipality of São Ludgero is represented in the state phase of the Santa Catarina Student Olympics (Olesc) in Lages. The local delegation includes Taekwondo athletes and a men's futsal team. The Taekwondo competition features six athletes, while the futsal team is scheduled to face opponents from Balneário Camboriú, Tubarão, and Joinville during the group stages.
