Santa Catarina hires 384 health staff, opens new education job selection

The Government of Santa Catarina, under Governor Jorginho Mello, has authorized the appointment of 384 candidates who passed the recent public health competition, bringing the total number of newly named health professionals to more than 570. The hires will reinforce state hospitals, regional health units, surveillance activities and administrative services.

Earlier in June, the State Health Secretariat announced three immediate vacancies – a nurse in Greater Florianópolis and an ophthalmologist and an IT technician at the Dona Catarina Kuss Maternity Hospital in Mafra – along with a reserve list of up to 400 candidates for Florianópolis and 20 for Mafra. Contracts are temporary for up to 24 months, renewable once, with detailed salary components and allowances.

In the municipality of São Pedro de Alcântara, an emergency selection was opened for three teaching positions (educational informatics, arts, and special education) to ensure continuity of school activities in 2026. Applications are to be submitted in person on 12 June, with remuneration following municipal rules and a meal allowance ranging from R$192.50 to R$770.00.
