Brazil rolls out dozens of public job exams and free training programs

State governments across Brazil announced a series of recruitment drives and free educational initiatives in July 2026. The Espírito Santo Health Secretariat allocated R$2 million to fund a new public exam for health staff. Pará’s Finance Secretariat sworn in 189 new auditors, fiscal officers and analysts, with 38 % of them placed through quota reservations for Black, Indigenous and quilombola candidates. Several higher‑education institutions opened further selection rounds: the Federal University of Pará published its seventh call for the 2026 admission process; the University of Pernambuco offered 30 tuition‑free postgraduate scholarships in government‑intelligence studies; and the Federal Institute of Maranhão announced a seventh selection phase for its 2026 entrance exam. Municipal and regional bodies also launched short‑term training: a welding course in Mogi das Cruzes (48 slots), a carpenter‑builder course in Caraguatatuba, a digital‑skills program (BR Click) for youth, and a free English proficiency test for 54 000 public‑school students in São Paulo, selecting 500 for overseas exchanges.

A nationwide overview listed more than 12 000 vacancies in upcoming public contests, including high‑salary auditor positions in the Federal District, technical roles in the Pará education secretary and dozens of health‑sector jobs in Tocantins. Senac in the Centre‑West of São Paulo pledged 6 917 free scholarships for professional courses ranging from health to IT. These announcements reflect a coordinated effort by Brazilian authorities to expand public‑sector employment and improve workforce skills through extensive, tuition‑free training programmes.
