Santa Catarina police conduct multiple arrests in crime investigations

Police in Santa Catarina have conducted several operations targeting organized crime and violent offenses. In Joaçaba, the investigation into a brutal homicide involving a carbonized victim has led to seven arrests. Authorities identified a criminal organization involved in the crime, noting that one suspect was managing gang activities from prison via a clandestine cell phone.

In Balneário Camboriú, three men were arrested for allegedly planning to kidnap influencer Allan Cabral. The suspects reportedly believed the streamer held R$ 80 million in assets and aimed to extort a R$ 12 million ransom. Police recovered a fake firearm and other tools during the interception.

In Brusque, authorities arrested a woman suspected of attempting to kill her brother while he was receiving cancer treatment at Hospital Azambuja. Additionally, police recaptured a man in the Bateas neighborhood who had been a fugitive since April 2024 for drug trafficking and attempted murder.
