Santa Clara County to open massive Valley Health Center
Santa Clara County is set to open the Valley Health Center on September 28 at 1410 S. Bascom Ave., located on the border of San Jose and Campbell. The 10-story, 230,000-square-foot facility is the largest in the county's health system and features over 200 exam rooms.
The center integrates various medical services, including adult and pediatric primary care, urgent care, pharmacy, OB-GYN, dental, behavioral health, imaging, and lab services. The facility is designed for high accessibility, situated near a VTA light rail station and within walking distance of approximately 11,000 households.
The project involved converting a former commercial complex into a medical building. After initially leasing the site, the county purchased the property for $340 million through 30-year revenue bonds, a move officials state will save the county $112 million over the next three decades.
