Santa Clara seeks to reactivate Lácteos Verónica plant in Lehmann

The Córdoba-based company Santa Clara has initiated negotiations to reactivate the Lácteos Verónica plant in Lehmann, Santa Fe, which has been inactive since late 2025. The proposal focuses on utilizing the facility's milk drying equipment to produce milk powder through a contract manufacturing arrangement.

If implemented, the plan aims to process between 300,000 and 400,000 liters of milk per day. This would allow for the reincorporation of approximately 60 workers, roughly half of the factory's total workforce. This development comes amid significant uncertainty for the 120 employees who have faced irregular salary payments for several months.

While workers have reported being called to begin cleaning facilities and inspecting machinery, no official confirmation regarding the reopening date or specific hiring conditions has been released by the company or labor unions. The potential reactivation is being timed to coincide with the spring season, when milk production in local farms is at its peak.
