Santa Clarita announces fifth annual Community Beautification Day

The City of Santa Clarita has announced its fifth annual Community Beautification Day, scheduled for Saturday, September 12, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. In a departure from previous years, the event will feature projects at multiple locations throughout the city to increase resident participation.

Volunteer activities include mulching along Golden Valley Road near Sierra Highway, litter removal near Centre Pointe Parkway, and graffiti removal along Sierra Highway and Remsen Street. Additionally, the city will offer mulch and compost giveaways, as well as a bulky-item drop-off location at Newhall Park. To deter illegal dumping, three 40-yard dumpsters will be available for large item disposal, though hazardous waste is prohibited.

To support these efforts, street sweeping will occur on Valle Del Oro over two days, starting Friday, September 11, to minimize traffic impacts. Residents interested in participating can register at SantaClaritaVolunteers.com. Minors aged 14 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
