Santa Clarita brewery destroyed in massive structure fire
A massive second-alarm structure fire destroyed a building in the 24000 block of North Main Street in Santa Clarita early Monday morning. The Los Angeles County Fire Department reported the incident just before 3 a.m., noting that flames and smoke were visible from the site.
Firefighters operated in “defensive mode” to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring businesses, as the risk of building collapse prevented crews from entering the structure. During the operation, a portion of the building's front collapsed. The affected site was identified by KTLA as the Newhall Refinery, a local brewery.
Local roads were closed in response to the blaze, and officials monitored the potential impact on Metrolink operations in the area.
