Santa Ana winds eucalyptus tree Santa Clarita Valencia McBean Parkway

A massive eucalyptus tree toppled onto a minivan on McBean Parkway in Valencia during peak Santa Ana winds. The incident occurred around 12:40 p.m. north of Magic Mountain Parkway.

The driver of the vehicle was injured and transported to a hospital for treatment. The fallen tree temporarily blocked all northbound lanes of McBean Parkway. The tree was located near the entrance to a Target shopping plaza.

The strong winds associated with the first Santa Ana event of the season have also caused multiple public safety power shutoffs and school cancellations in the Santa Clarita Valley.
