Santa Comba Dão former mayor João Lourenço dies at 63

João Lourenço, the former mayor of Santa Comba Dão, passed away on Saturday, August 22, at the age of 63. A civil engineer by profession, Lourenço served as the president of the municipal chamber for eight years, from 2005 to 2013.

In response to his passing, the Santa Comba Dão municipality has declared two days of municipal mourning, observed on Sunday, August 23, and Monday, August 24. The municipal flag has been placed at half-mast at the town hall. The current leadership, headed by Inês Matos, expressed condolences to the family of the former official. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
