Santa Cruz authorities inspect mining and energy operations

The Santa Cruz State Secretariat of Mining conducted a technical inspection of the Minera Don Nicolás complex in the Deseado Massif. The inspection included the Falcon exploration area, the Calandrias leaching pad, the tailings dam, and the La Paloma underground mine. The visit aimed to verify operational aspects, evaluate safety conditions, and ensure compliance with current regulations.

In the energy sector, Governor Claudio Vidal supervised the start of a USD 7.27 million drilling campaign by Crown Point Energía in the San Jorge Gulf Basin. The program involves drilling three wells in Koluel Kayke and Piedra Clavada. Two wells in Koluel Kayke, KK-2002 and KK-2003, will focus on developing existing reserves and exploring the D-129 formation. The third well, PC-2005, will be located in Piedra Clavada to develop reserves from the Mina del Carmen and Caleta Olivia formations.
