Santa Cruz awards environmental compliance certificate to YPFB
The Municipal Government of Santa Cruz de la Sierra has issued a Certificate of Environmental Conformity and Compliance to Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB). This certification follows a two-year environmental monitoring period regarding the reforestation efforts linked to the Biodiesel Plant I project.
To compensate for the removal of 172 trees during the construction of the Palmasola plant, YPFB planted 761 native trees across an area exceeding 10,000 square meters. The reforestation project utilized six native species: Cuchi Mara, Tajibo Amarillo, Tajibo Colorado, Cupesí, Jacarandá, and Serebó.
The initiative aims to create a new urban green space in the city center, enhancing local biodiversity and air quality. The project met 100% of its commitment, including a 10% additional margin of seedlings to account for potential contingencies.
