Santa Cruz County deputies capture runaway emu
Deputies from the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office captured a runaway emu that caused disruption in a California neighborhood. The bird was seen darting through streets and weaving through traffic at night, prompting law enforcement to act as bird wranglers to ensure public safety until the owner could arrive.
This incident occurred only days after a separate emu caused traffic concerns in the same area, requiring intervention from the California Highway Patrol. While the two incidents involved different birds, both caused local traffic headaches and prompted numerous calls from concerned motorists.
