Santa Cruz de Tenerife begins waste tax notifications

The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council will begin issuing notifications for the waste collection and treatment tax this Sunday, September 20. Approximately 65,000 notifications will be distributed progressively through both electronic means via the municipal website and physical mail to residents' homes.

Citizens can access notifications through the municipal electronic office, where they can validate the communication using an electronic signature to start the voluntary payment period. Alternatively, residents can visit Citizen Information and Attention Offices (OIAC) or use the online assistance system. If electronic and postal notifications arrive at different times, the payment period begins from the first notification opened by the taxpayer.

Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez stated that the collection schedule was moved to the second period to provide families with more time to manage payments, noting that the new calculation system has resulted in increased costs for many households.
