Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival selects 2027 poster

Nareme Melián has been selected as the winner of the poster competition for the 2027 Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival. His winning design, titled ‘El legado de un imperio’ (The Legacy of an Empire), will serve as the official image for the upcoming festivities.

Melián, a scenographer who previously designed the carnival posters in 2018 and 2023, received a prize of 12,000 euros. The selection was determined through a dual voting system, with the winning proposal securing approximately 30% of the 15,758 valid votes cast by the public.

The 2027 edition of the carnival will be themed ‘Roma Eterna: El imperio del Carnaval’ (Eternal Rome: The Empire of Carnival). The announcement was made during a celebration at Plaza del Príncipe, attended by local officials including Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez.
