Santa Cruz de Tenerife celebrates Bolivian Virgin of Urkupiña festivities

The Bolivian community in Santa Cruz de Tenerife celebrated the feast of the Virgin of Urkupiña with two days of music, dance, and traditional festivities. The event, held in the Salamanca neighborhood, featured a procession that gathered hundreds of people near the Fatima Church.

Organized by the Asociación de Vecinos La Arboleda Salamanca-Uruguay-Uruguay-Acca and Salay Jatun Masis, with support from the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, the celebration combined religious acts with traditional Bolivian music and dance. Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez noted that the event demonstrates the capacity of local neighborhoods to serve as meeting points for diverse cultural traditions.
