Santa Cruz de Tenerife collects 6 million euros in municipal taxes

The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has collected 6 million euros through voluntary payments following a recent municipal tax update. This period involves the Economic Activities Tax (IAE) and a waste management fee, which has increased by 50% due to new regulations.

Local officials noted that approximately 35.37% of the residential and non-residential registry has completed their payments. The council had previously delayed collection for private residents to help them adjust to the tax increase. However, a technical error occurred during the notification process, where the system incorrectly sent communications as formal notifications rather than informative ones, requiring significant technical and legal reconfiguration.
