Santa Cruz de Tenerife invests 689,000 euros in police equipment

The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has approved a series of contracts totaling 689,000 euros to upgrade equipment for the Local Police and the Police Intervention Unit (Unipol). This investment aims to facilitate the return of Unipol agents to the streets by the end of the year.

Specific allocations include over 260,000 euros for defensive gear for Unipol, such as 100 semi-rigid batons, pepper projectile launchers, riot shields, tactical backpacks, helmets, ballistic shields, and button cameras. The procurement also covers handcuffs, flashlights, and battering rams.

Additional investments include the acquisition of 285 portable radios (Tetra and DUSI systems) and the rental of six vehicles: four vans for the Local Police and two for the Civil Protection section.
