Santa Cruz de Tenerife police remove 45 abandoned vehicles

The Local Police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife have removed 45 abandoned vehicles from the streets of the municipality since May. This operation follows reinforced control and detection efforts by the police.

Of the total removals, 35 vehicles were moved to the municipal impound through administrative procedures. In the remaining 10 cases, owners voluntarily surrendered their vehicles to the City Council for compaction at no cost. Data from the City Council indicates that 57.7% of these vehicles were located in the Ofra-Costa Sur area.

Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez and Security Councilor Gladis de León highlighted the involvement of the Abandoned Vehicles Group (GRUVA) and various operational units. The city continues to encourage owners to either remove their vehicles or surrender them to authorized treatment centers to ensure safe destruction and avoid legal consequences.
