Santa Cruz de Tenerife reports improved bus service efficiency

The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has reported positive initial results following the implementation of new bus routes, schedules, and service improvements that began on August 3. The modifications aim to expand service hours, introduce new itineraries, and improve punctuality across various urban lines.

A key addition is line 915, which provides a direct connection between the Intercambiador and Ofra via Tío Pino and Camino del Hierro. This route complements line 908, offering an alternative for commuters. During August, line 915 recorded 4,893 passengers across 382 trips, maintaining a 94.9% punctuality rate.

Additionally, line 908 has seen significant changes, including a unified route along the Carretera General del Rosario and increased frequency. On weekdays, two additional trips were added, with service extending until 00:15. On weekends, six new trips were introduced to reinforce nighttime mobility. In August, line 908 transported 130,886 passengers.

Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez stated that improving public transport is a priority to provide a service that is more useful, connected, and adapted to the needs of local neighborhoods. While early data is encouraging, officials noted that a period of adjustment is necessary to fully assess the impact on user behavior and travel patterns.
