Santa Cruz educational initiatives support student citizenship and training
The Provincial Council of Education (CPE) in Santa Cruz, Argentina, is implementing several initiatives to support secondary students through civic engagement and professional training.
In Río Gallegos, over 800 students participated in the “Building Democratic Coexistence” meeting. This program, developed in coordination with the Ministry of Security and the Provincial Judiciary, aims to promote responsible citizenship and strengthen schools as spaces for the protection of youth rights. The initiative utilizes the “Schools that Accompany in Community” guide to provide tools for the prevention and detection of issues within the school environment.
In Caleta Olivia, students from the “Nicolás Avellaneda” Provincial Secondary Education College completed a three-year program of unpaid educational internships within the Municipality of Caleta Olivia. This public policy initiative, established through an agreement between the educational department and the municipality, allows students to gain experience in public management and institutional responsibility under the guidance of municipal tutors.
