Santa Cruz government monitors well abandonment plan in San Jorge Gulf Basin

The Santa Cruz provincial government, through its Ministry of Energy and Mining, is monitoring a plan to abandon 1,160 wells in the San Jorge Gulf Basin. These wells are located in areas previously operated by YPF.

During a meeting with representatives from Clear Servicios, officials discussed the development of this work plan, which has a projected execution period of five years. The tasks will follow technical criteria established by the National Energy Secretariat and recommendations from the Argentine Institute of Oil and Gas (IAPG) to ensure proper environmental and technical procedures for both temporary and definitive well abandonment.
