Santa Cruz government warns of RUPAE-related fraud attempts

The Government of Santa Cruz, through its Ministry of Production, Commerce, and Industry, has issued an alert regarding attempted fraud via telephone calls and WhatsApp messages. Scammers are reportedly using the institutional logo of the Provincial Registry of Economic Activities (RUPAE) to solicit personal information, sensitive documentation, and banking data.

Authorities clarified that official RUPAE procedures must be conducted in person at offices in Río Gallegos or via the official email address provided by the ministry. The fraudulent calls have been traced to numbers originating from the Buenos Aires province. The government advises the community to verify all communications through official channels and to avoid providing personal data to third parties.
