Santa Cruz Governor criticizes judicial delays and Kirchnerist influence

Santa Cruz Governor Claudio Vidal has criticized the Kirchnerist movement, labeling the provincial judiciary as ‘the last trench’ of their influence. This follows a survey by the Superior Court of Justice of Santa Cruz, which identified 2,192 cases with procedural delays across five first-instance courts in Río Gallegos.

The audit revealed pending sentences, unprocessed documents, and unassigned files. In response, the province's highest court has ordered measures to regularize the situation, setting a two-month deadline to correct the backlog and requiring the Court of Appeals to submit a work schedule.

Vidal defended his administration's judicial reforms, including the expansion of the Superior Court of Justice and the implementation of competitive examinations to fill prosecutor and defender positions. He argued that the judicial delays are a legacy of decades of Kirchnerist governance and called for an independent judiciary capable of investigating corruption without political interference.
