Santa Cruz journalists undergo training to combat AI disinformation

In Santa Cruz de la Sierra, 30 journalists participated in an intensive training workshop focused on combating disinformation and the risks posed by artificial intelligence. The session utilized a participatory, inverted classroom methodology to function as a practical laboratory for media professionals.

Participants, including independent journalists, editors, and writers, used digital tools such as InVID, Hive Moderation, and Google Maps to analyze real-world cases. The training focused on verifying images and videos, tracking metadata, performing precise geolocations, and identifying synthetically generated content to ensure technical and ethical rigor in newsrooms.
