Santa Cruz launches Blur 5 mountain bike with 120mm travel

Santa Cruz unveiled the fifth‑generation Blur, consolidating its previous XC and TR models into a single platform that features 120 mm of front and rear travel across all versions. The new bike uses a CC‑carbon frame, a revised Superlight suspension kinematics and a longer, lower geometry that includes a 66° head angle, a steeper 75° seat angle, and a reach of 475 mm for size L. Two race‑focused builds are offered alongside five standard configurations, with prices ranging from €4,999 to €12,499.

The redesign eliminates the earlier split between a 100 mm XC version and a 115‑120 mm TR version, aiming to meet the evolving demands of fast, technical cross‑country courses. Additional updates include a larger glovebox compartment, a revised rear shock that matches the older 110 mm model, and options for longer‑travel dropper posts. The launch signals Santa Cruz’s continued commitment to the high‑end XC market despite no longer fielding a top‑level race team.
