Santa Cruz launches psychosocial support program for adoption processes
The Government of Santa Cruz has formalized an agreement between the Ministries of Government and Health and Environment to implement a Group Psychosocial Support Program for adoption processes. The initiative aims to provide continuous, interdisciplinary technical support to families from the moment they express interest in adoption through to the final placement with a child or adolescent.
Ministers Belén Elmiger and Lorena Ross signed the inter-institutional cooperation agreement, which coordinates efforts between the Mental Health team, the provincial Civil Registry, and the Judiciary. The program is designed as a transversal effort involving various state powers, including the Judiciary's child and adolescent defense areas, to balance support for prospective families with the protection of the rights of children awaiting placement.
