Buenos Aires Province Police to Receive 7% Salary Raise

The government of Buenos Aires Province, led by Governor Axel Kicillof, will announce a 7% salary increase for the provincial police force. The raise will be applied in two tranches—5% in July and an additional 2% in August—based on the June salary base. It follows a 9.3% increase granted earlier in the year and mirrors the agreement reached with state and teaching workers in recent collective bargaining, which the police cannot negotiate directly because of legal restrictions.

Current basic salaries are around 2.3 million pesos for a superintendent, 1.9 million for a general commissioner, 1.7 million for a senior commissioner, 1.5 million for a commissioner inspector and roughly 900 000 pesos for an entry‑level officer. The increase will be formalized by executive decree.

At the same time, the province will raise the amounts allocated to several social assistance programs—Envión, Reunir, Barrios Bonaerenses and Más Vida—which had already received a 25% boost in April and a doubling of food assistance distribution. The MESA program, which provided monthly food modules to school‑children families, has been suspended.
