Santa Cruz Province starts practical training for marine and wine students
Students from the provincial School of Marine Biology began hands‑on port operations at Puerto Caleta Paula under a new agreement between the Ministry of Production, Commerce and Industry and the Provincial Education Council. Fifteen students will work in shifts from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., observing and participating in dock logistics, documentation and administrative procedures. Port administrator Isabel Vázquez Vogt said the program brings education directly to the workplace.
Meanwhile, the School of Enology reopened its renovated winery after more than fifty years of inactivity. As part of the 3rd Provincial Meeting of Agrotechnical Schools, seventh‑year students will produce an initial batch of 2,000 liters, handling the entire process from grape harvesting to bottling. Minister Silvia Fuentes highlighted the project’s cultural and educational value, noting its role in training thousands of young people in the province’s agricultural sector.
