Santa Elena acquires new waste compactor truck
The municipal government of Santa Elena has acquired a new Foton waste compactor truck to improve environmental management services. The investment for the vehicle, which has an 18-ton capacity, totaled 170 million pesos, excluding the cost of additional containers.
According to Martín Bonazzola, Secretary of Public Works and Services, the new equipment will support a new waste separation scheme. This plan aims to differentiate between wet and dry waste to facilitate material recovery, working in coordination with the local recycling cooperative. The operational plan includes installing containers in central areas and residential neighborhoods to streamline logistics and replace traditional community bins.
