Regional health systems upgrade infrastructure and diagnostic technology

Various regional health authorities in Argentina and the Dominican Republic are implementing infrastructure upgrades and equipment acquisitions to improve medical services.

In the Dominican Republic, the National Health Service (SNS) delivered a 128-slice tomograph to the Hospital Provincial Nuestra Señora de Regla in Baní. The new technology includes artificial intelligence and features that reduce radiation exposure by up to 80%, aiming to provide high-precision diagnostic imaging locally and reduce the need for patient transfers.

In Argentina, several hospitals are undergoing expansions. The Hospital Misericordia in Córdoba inaugurated a 750-square-meter modular block with 30 medical offices to increase capacity by 10%. In Vicente López, the Hospital Bernardo Houssay added cardiology offices and a bacteriology laboratory to reduce waiting times. The Hospital María Ferrer in Buenos Aires completed works to centralize respiratory care, including a sleep monitoring center and a physical rehabilitation gym. In General Roca, the Hospital Francisco López Lima received significant investment for neonatal, pediatric, and surgical equipment. Additionally, the Hospital San Roque in Dolores is renovating its oncology ward, and the Hospital Dr. Félix Pértile in General San Martín has added a blood bank, a tomograph, and a mammograph.

In Formosa, the government launched an integrated health operation across 17 localities to provide free medical, dental, and ophthalmological services, including vaccinations and medication.
