Santa Eugènia authorities investigate animal abuse of two dogs
Authorities in Santa Eugènia are investigating a case of suspected animal abuse involving two Akita Inu dogs. Following a complaint to the local police, agents from Seprona (the Nature Protection Service) inspected the animals and found them in poor welfare conditions.
One of the dogs suffered a deep wound, measuring between two and three centimeters, around its neck. Preliminary findings suggest the injury may have been caused by a collar that was not properly adjusted as the animal grew, causing it to become embedded in the skin. The dogs have been removed for their protection and transferred to the Natura Parc Foundation, where they are receiving veterinary care and treatment.
