Santa Fe acquires 90 pumps to prepare for El Niño flooding
Governor Maximiliano Pullaro has presented 90 new pumps acquired by the province of Santa Fe to strengthen the regional response to potential water emergencies caused by the El Niño phenomenon.
The purchase represents an investment of over 1.1 billion pesos. This equipment is part of a broader provincial prevention plan that includes approximately 600 infrastructure interventions, the maintenance of 500 kilometers of defense embankments, and the management of over 5,000 kilometers of canals.
Officials noted that 40 of the units are low-lift pumps capable of being operated by local tractors to complement fixed pumping stations. The total investment for these comprehensive prevention and maintenance measures is estimated at nearly 30,000 million pesos.
