The municipality of Santa Fe will introduce 28 new buses to its urban transport system starting next week. Five of the vehicles are brand‑new, zero‑kilometre units that will serve lines 8, 11, 13, 16 and 18. Seventeen additional buses, built in 2017‑2018, will replace older units on lines 4, 5, 8, 10, 11, 14, 16 and 18. Three of the new buses are articulated; all are low‑floor and equipped with air‑conditioning, security cameras and real‑time monitoring systems. The rollout continues a renewal programme that has already added 50 buses in the past twelve months, raising the proportion of trips made in new vehicles from 3 % at the start of the current administration to about 40 %. The municipality says the upgrades aim to improve safety, comfort and accessibility for thousands of daily passengers, and further additions—including six 2023‑model buses for line 1—are planned in the coming months.
