Santa Fe advances road infrastructure and toll concessions
Infrastructure projects are underway in the Santa Fe province to improve regional road connectivity. In the San Jerónimo department, the provincial government is performing a comprehensive transformation of Provincial Route 41s. Public Works Minister Lisandro Enrico reported that 12 of the 17 kilometers between Irigoyen and Bernardo de Irigoyen have already been paved. The project includes widening the roadway from 6.70 to 7.30 meters to replace the previously damaged surface.
Separately, a new concession for National Route 11 has been established. The company Vial de Paraná Medio Sociedad Anónima is scheduled to begin work in October on the 497-kilometer corridor connecting Nelson to Florencia. The concessionaire plans to implement deep and superficial pothole repairs, shoulder maintenance, and lighting repairs. The company has announced an initial investment to restore the corridor, with an estimated nine-month period before toll collection begins. Provincial Deputy Dionisio Scarpin expressed support for the return of the toll system to fund maintenance, though he noted disagreements regarding specific aspects of the current concession terms.
