Santa Fe authorities conduct livestock and wildlife trafficking raids

Authorities in Santa Fe, Argentina, have conducted several operations targeting livestock theft and illegal wildlife trafficking. In Las Toscas, the Los Pumas Rural Guard intercepted two men on a motorcycle carrying a dead 15-kilogram lamb in a burlap sack. The men were also found in possession of two knives and an air rifle. A separate operation in the Garay department resulted in the seizure of a 12-gauge shotgun and ammunition during a fluvial control on the San Javier River.

In a different crackdown in Arocena, the Investigation Police (PDI) raided a location suspected of illegal wildlife commercialization. The operation resulted in the rescue of 47 birds of various species, along with cages, traps, and mobile phones. Two individuals, aged 57 and 79, were identified in connection with the investigation. The procedure was conducted under the supervision of Prosecutor Julio Lema and involved specialists from the Directorate General of Sustainable Wildlife Management to ensure the recovery and evaluation of the rescued animals.
